Tripple-block - will it fit?
This might be a little bit too much details for some people. But I am a little bit worried that the tripple block for the halyard won’t lay flat against the mast. It is supposed to be hold out by the “truck”-shaped oak cleat. But it doesn’t look ennough. Time will tell. I guess this might be one of the small problems.

Ok! Thanks. Today I might get my hands on an ST winch for the main halyard. And maybe some second hand blocks too.

Is there a practical reason why you chose wooden blocks?

No. The bronze roller bearings are quite good and serviceable. But they are no better or worse or more or less expensive than ordinary ball bearing plastic things. They are heavier and look better, though. One bad and one good point.
But I would be silly talking about practical things when talking about sailing. (Like you did.) It is all about something else. Flying or going by car is much less expensive, faster and comfortable. Those kinds of transportation tend to be a bit smelly, ugly and less romantic, though.
